We have booked 2 flights to Munich for 2 weeks in September and this will be our first time to Germany. We are a couple in our late 50`s who are still quite active though don`t want anything too strenuous. Thought of something like 4 nights in Munich, 4 nights in Regensburg then train to Lake Constance for perhaps 6 nights at Lindau for a bit of relaxation. We enjoy walking, general sightseeing (using local transport whenever possible)trying out different restaurants etc. Would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on this itinerary.

It is nice to settle into a place for a while and have a chance to find a favorite restaurant. We are going this spring to Germany for 10 days and intend to limit ourselves to 4 overnight locations: Wurzburg, Nurnberg, Regensburg and Freising (before our flight out). We will probably use the train for a few day trips. My wife lived in Munich for 2 years and loved it. We both visited all the places that you mentioned. I would not visit Lindau for that long but that is purely a matter of personal interests. I bet that you will have a good time.
