Beer Gardens

Hi! One of my travel books said that the beer gardens do not open until Spring. If this is true, could anybody help me with a specific date? We%26#39;ll be there the first week of April. Thanks!

The Opening of the Beer-Gardens is more a Question of weather then of the Date.

If there is the warm wind called %26quot;foehn%26quot; comming over the alps in Jan or Feb, sometimes creating temeratures around 15C and above and a clear blue sky the beergardens like the Seehaus in Schwabing or the Chinesischer Turm open and will be full.

But the %26quot;real%26quot; beer-garden-season usually starts in May with the days getting warmer (above 20C).

If you are lucky and catch a warm and sunny day in April you will find enough beer gardens open.

Have to add something to the weather in April:

The weather in April can be tricky. There may be days with Temperatures above 20C but also Winter-days with snow and Temperatures below 0C.

And the changes between these extremes can come up quickly, sometimes overnight!

So be prepared for everything.
