Can anyone give me an estimate for how long it would take to drive from Garmisch-Partenkirchen area to the Munich airport? I have a 12:30 pm flight and am trying to decide whether to stay an extra night in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area or head back to Munich for the night. It looks like it%26#39;s about 80-90 miles but I%26#39;m not sure what to anticipate with traffic. Thanks very much.

That%26#39;s a tricky one, because you don%26#39;t tell us what day of the week you will be travelling and what time of the year.
During the winter, when people are heading for the ski slopes (and back) Sunday afternoon and Monday morning would be a bad time to travel back to Munich, especially since sections of the the Munich by-pass (A-99) actually go through the city and pick upa fair amount of local traffic,
Personally, I would ditch the car in Garmisch, take the train in the AM to the Muenchen Hauptbahnhof (Hbf.) and catch the S- Bahn from there to the airport.
