Taxi or private transportation from Frankfurt Airport to...

I would like some assistance in determining what would be a better option for me and my family. We are arriving in Frankfurt June 15 and will be renting a camper from a company in Neustadt/Wien approx 120km away from the Airport in Frankfurt. They have a dropoff/pickup service but it will cost about $500US. Is there a cheaper way by private transport (taxi or bus) that anyone would recommend? What would it cost? Thanks very much!

Good grief! If the train doesn%26#39;t work, you could rent a car much cheaper! You could rent one way with an agency such as Europcar, pick up the car at Frankfurt airport, drive to the camper company and then drive the car to the nearest agency to return it. I did a quick search and a one way rental from Frankfurt airport for one day with return to Mannheim airport is 87 Euros total for a small car. It%26#39;s an option. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Neustadt/Wien ???

There is a

53577 Neustadt (Wied)

and a

67433 Neustadt an der Weinstraße (and some similar ZIP codes)

Both are in this distance from Frankfurt Airport.

Than there is the Wiener Neustadt, but this is a city in Austria.

Neustadt an der Weinstraße has 57.000 inhabitants and can be easily reached by public transport.

Neustadt (Wied) hat 6.700 inhabitants. But only 1.550 from them in Neustadt, the rest is spread over 55 (!) villages. This is a damn remote place for Germany.

So we would need to know what you exact destination is.

Are you landing at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) or at (Frankfurt-)Hahn which is used by Ryanair.

But there are no good connections.

Neustadt-Fernthal is close to the ICE highspeed line Frankfurt - Cologne - but these train won%26#39;t stop there of course. Closest stop is Montabaur (~ 40 km).

With local trains and buses the trip would be EUR 30-40 (for all of you). But the connections to Neustadt (Wied) are really bad.

Do you have two drivers?

Than rent a car and return it on the same day, e.g. Koblenz.

Taxi won%26#39;t be cheaper.

The company is asking for EUR 350 incl. final cleaning. Thus without final cleaning this is EUR 150 per leg, which is not a cheap rate but still in the normal range for a shuttle service with this distance.
