Shopping in Munich

I%26#39;m going to be in Munich for a tradeshow in late January/ early February. I%26#39;m hoping to slip away for some shopping the day after the show is over. Any recommendations? Also, what is the weather like there at this time of year?

Thanks!

Along the Neuhauser Strasse - a pedestrian zone between the Marienplatz (city hall square) and the Karlsplatz (aka Stachus) - you will find about any kind of store you are looking for. Some, like for woodcarving or famous Bavarian Loden clothing (Loden Frey) are in side streets. If you have kids stop at the big Obletter toy store at the Karlsplatz, south side).

Remind that the shops will only be open until 8pm. So don%26#39;t start your shopping trip too late.

There%26#39;s an excellent department store close to the Marienplatz. I bought a very nice sweater for my husband and a beautiful little porcelain mantel clock for myself that I still treasure. About a block away, behind the town hall, is a shop of several stories with all sorts of linens and gifts.
