Bonn has quite a big university (over 30.000 students) and thus enough young people for a good nightlife.

Cannot really compare with Cologne however. Bonn is on this always in the shadow of its big neighbour.

The Japanese team will have their home base in Bonn.

There are also plans for public viewing on the Münsterplatz (in the old town of Bonn).

Don%26#39;t put too much into what the nightlife of a place is %26quot;normally%26quot;. There is a stiff competition between the cities in Germany and all want to be the best hosts for their guests. First it%26#39;s not yet out what they will exactly offer during this time. And nobody will no beforehand how good this will be in reality. There is no rule that otherwise boring cities could not offer the best street parties during the World Cup. This is probably even easier if you don%26#39;t have a strong lobby of %26quot;established%26quot; businesses in this field.

Lucky you, being in Bonn! It is much nicer than Cologne (and probably less rowdy). If you don%26#39;t look for the nightlife it will coming looking for you! Any pubs will be great (unless England are playing Germany, oh, please, not again...!) Unfortunately Ireland are out of it this time (their own fault, silly gits). Bonn is quieter than Köln but should be good fun, good luck to England from German expat to Ireland
