Hi!
Plan to spend 3 days in Germany starting and ending in Frankfurt. First time in germany...what are the high spots to hit? We want to visit friends in Munich. whats the best way to get there? Rent a car or train maybe? A Budget conscious and baby convenient suggestion would help. Thanks in advance!

Given your limited time and traveling with a baby, I think that renting a car would be more convenient, especially if you have much luggage and with the baby. Traveling to and from Munich will use up most of your time. The walled town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber is one of the most visited places in Germany and it is on your way to Munich. Another must-see place is Neuschwanstein Castle near Fuessen which you could visit on your way back. Germany is full of interesting places to see, you could pick any area at random, and find wonderful things to see. It%26#39;s too bad that you don%26#39;t have more time.

With only three days to spend you should limit yourself to sights that are on the track between Frankfurt and Munich (distance: approx. 250 miles). These would be: Würzburg and its castle (directly next to the motorway), Rothenburg ob der Tauber (a 80km detour but well worth it), Nürnberg (very old city directly next to the motorway). If you want to see a bit of countryside, I would recommend using public transport in Munich and going to the Ammersee for the monastery of Andechs which is very nicely located in the foothills of the alps. The monks there brew their own beer, well worth a try. Enjoy!
