My husband and I will be going to Frankfurt in Sept. for 10 days and staying with friends for most of the trip. I want to surprise my hubby with a night at a romantic castle with nice views not too far from Frankfurt. Also any suggestions for day trips are appreciated.

Well, the Rhine Valley is just one hour(by car or train) away and there are numerous castle hotels available (http://www.rhinecastles.com/). There are quite a few castles in the Odenwald region, too, but I%26#39;m not quite sure about castle hotels.

Auf Schoenburg in Oberwesel is your best bet for service, ambiance, and romance.
