Getting to our hotel

My teenage daughter and I are flying into Tegel arriving early on a Sat. morning. We will have a Eurail pass. We need to know how to get from the airport to our hotel -Best Western Premier Hotel City Con and what it will cost. (Using public transport.)

Also, do you think our hotel will hold our luggage for us until we can check in later in the afternoon?

Also, can anyone advise us how much luggage is allowed on the trains in Europe?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give us!

BVG timetable

From: TXL

To: Rathausstr. 2, 10367 Berlin

Single ticket is EUR 2,10.

A day ticket is EUR 5,80.

You may also consider to buy a

CityTourCard Berlin

or the Berlin Welcome Card

Children tickets are only available for under 14 years olds.

It makes no sense to use your Eurail Pass for travelling around in Berlin or to Potsdam. The rail pass covers *just* the trains.

The above mentioned tickets cover:

- local trains (RegionalBahn RB and RegionalExpress RE)

- S-Bahn

- U-Bahn

- trams

- buses

and even some ferries.

It plays no role which combination you need to reach your destinations.

There is no limit. But you should be able to carry your luggage with you at once. At intermediate stops trains often stop just for a minute or less. If your destination is announced or displayed as next stop, you go with your luggage to the door room and after the train has stopped you leave it with your luggage. There is no option to return for collecting more luggage or so.
