I will be traveling for two weeks (3/25 - 4/7) all over Germany. Specifically I was looking for recommendations to see live music in and around Bavaria. Opera houses? Castle symphonies? Live local music in pubs? I would hope to plan some days around live music, I just am not sure where to start. Thanks for any help!

I%26#39;ve looked in my program for the Staatstheater (opera house)in Stuttgart (www.staatstheater.stuttgart.de) and have found the following during your visit:
Sat. Mar 25 Norma Opera
Sun. Mar 26 Bejart/Robbins Ballet (This has . been changed to I believe 3 shorter . . ballets as we are attending that . . . evening and have been notified of the . . change)
Wed. Mar 29 Norma Opera
Thurs. Mar 30 Madame Butterfly Opera
Fri. Mar 31 Bejart/Robbins Ballet
Sat Apr 1 Die Zauberfloete Opera
Sun Apr 2 Madame Butterfly Opera
Mon. Apr 3 Norma Opera
Tue. Apr 4 Don Giovanni Opera
Fri. Apr. 7 the premier of Der Sandmann . Ballet
Of the above, my wife%26#39;s first choice would be Die Zauberfloete.
There are also many venues for music in Stuttgart including the large music hall and churches, but we seldomly attend these. There are also a fair number of clubs, etc. having live music of several different types. Also, two musicals are always being performed, currently Mama Mia (featuring ABBA music) and Sissi (the story of Elizabeth who became the empress of Austria).

I have only been to the Prinzregententheater, which was fabulous. I am sure that the Nationaltheater will be just as grand.
