I am looking for the best places to taste some true German beer! Like breweries, pubs, even something only found in Munich, etc.
Any web sites?
thanks

If the weather is fine, you definetly have go to some beer garden (Biergarten).
The Augustiner Biergarten is close to downtown (a short walk from central station along the street - Arnulfstrasse - on the north side of the station).
Another option would be the Biergarten at the Chinesischer Turm in the Englischer Garten park (short walk e.g. from subway station Universitt)

Yes, the beer gardens are good places to be if the weather is nice. There is also another beer garden in the Englischer Garten. It is called Seehaus. The beer they serve there is Paulaner. I think the beer served in Chinesisher Turm is Hofbrauhaus. Both of these brands are brewed in Munich, along with Augustiner, Hacker-Pshorr, Spaten, and Lowenbrau. In my experience, most Munchners believe Augustiner is the best. Most are worth a try though.

Firefighter: One more thought. There is a book called %26#39; The Beer Drinker%26#39;s Guide to Munich%26#39; that some friends have used and they have found it to be very helpful. Check your local library or bookstore. There is also a website that you can check, although the information is geared toward you buying the book. http://www.beerdrinkersguide.com/

I would agree about Augustinerbrau, but also the Hirschgarten is a must visit, for the beer, outside atmosphere, and food.
If you have the time, take the S bahn to Erding and try the Erdinger Weissbier.

Which firestation do you work at? I have a friend that is also a firefighter in corpus. Small world.
