What is the best way to get from Karlsruhe-Baden-Baden Airport to Stuttgart. Have been on bahn.de, but not sure if want to book specific train, incase our flight is delayed. Can you use a %26quot;baden-baden Wurttenberg%26quot; ticket?
Any help much appreciated

You don%26#39;t need to book a specific train at all. Just buy a ticket upon arrival. The trains from BB to Karlsruhe run 2x hourly and from there to Stuttgart hourly. You can only use Baden-Württemberg-Ticket on local trains (RE, RB, S, IRE)! Otherwise no trains have a reservation requirement. If you buy a ticket it is valid for a speific duration (1 d, for longer distances 2 d), not for a specific train.

Cheers Altamiro, so I should be alright just buying tickets from the station. Wasn%26#39;t sure whether it%26#39;d be alot more expensive buying them on the day.

For your possible future use: Germanwings flies from Stuttgart to London Stansted twice daily, 7AM, 7PM and returns from London 8AM and 8PM. Advertised fares are 19 euros one way, but I have 1 euro flights next week, and 4 euro flights are common if booked early. Unfortunately after the added taxes and fees the price is up to 32 euros each way. Then there is only a short S-bahn journey into central Stuttgart, not a fairly long train ride from the wrong side of Baden-Baden.

Not a lot, not a bit, not even a cent more expensive. A ticket costs so and so much, you can get a discount but that%26#39;s it. Deutsche Bahn didn%26#39;t sink to the Midland Mainline price system yet :-)
(There is a 25% discount by booking in advance for a fixed train but the discounted sears are limited in numbers and for the 100 km you will be better off using BaWü-Ticket. There are rumours of seats with 50% discount for a return journey but they are as rare as documented Nessie sightings)

DB timetable

From: Flughafen Karlsruhe
To: Stuttgart
If you want to use the Baden-Württemberg Ticket select as means of transport %26quot;only local transport%26quot;.
You cannot book seats on local trains.
The Baden-Württemberg Ticket covers besides local trains also the bus from the airport to Baden-Baden as well as all local public transport (trams, buses) in Stuttgart.

Thanks for your help, will leave buying a ticket until I arrive in Germany. We hopefully use the Ba-Wu ticket, as cheaper and doesn%26#39;t take much longer.
