I will be visiting Dusseldorf for FIFA matches in June that are taking place in Gelsenkirschen..
Where is a nice place to stay? I was looking at the Hotel Orangerie in the old town- are there lots of restaurants around this hotel? Places to walk to?

is in a nice location in the Altstadt (old town) of Düsseldorf. What they write about their location
www.hotel-orangerie-mcs.de/historie_e.html
is correct.
Gelsenkirschen would be a nice name too. Kirschen = cherries in German.
But it%26#39;s Gelsenkirchen.
Düsseldorf = Duesseldorf when umlauts (ä ö ü) are not available (ü -%26gt; ue). E.g.

Gelsenkirchen and Düsseldorf are both inside the VRR, the local public transport network of the Rhine-Ruhr area.
http://www.vrr.de/en/
Your entrance ticket to the match covers the trip from Düsseldorf to Gelsenkirchen for the match.
You can also use the DB timetable
reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/dn…
you can use
%26quot;D%26quot; as a shortut for Düsseldorf Hbf (main railway station)
%26quot;DUS%26quot; as a shortcut for Düsseldorf Airport train station
