What cards to use in Berlin

I have ordered some Euros but I wanted to take a card to have as backup if we get too enthusiastic with our spending. I have a 3 Visa Debit cards but none of them are Maestro and I have a Visa Credit Card. Does anyone know if they are accepted in Germany?

As long as credit cards are accepted in Germany these are normally Visa and MasterCard. Hotels, department stores, upscale shops and restaurants accept normally credit cards. Normally they have placed the VISA sticker somewhere. If you can%26#39;t spot it ask.

At *cheap* places like hostels, discounters or if it comes to small values (ticket machines etc.) you need either cash, a Maestro card or functions of a card like GeldKarte or ELV which are only available with German bank cards.

With Visa Debit Cards you can normally use all ATMs part of the PLUS network (some 1 million worldwide). Never seen an ATM in Germany without a PLUS sticker.

i used a visa debit card in most atms without hassle. also used it to pay for hotel without any probs.
