can someone tell me if this is possible in one day

i want to start from munich to zugspitze in the morning and then afternoonto scholss lindhof

then back to munich at night

howerver i dont have a car so can only travel by train or bus

Not really in Winter. In Winter Schloss Linderhof closes at 4pm. In Summer it would be possible.

this would be difficult even in summer. these places are so beautiful, why rush? Schloss Linderhof is a jewel and if the weather is good, the train to the top of the Zugspitze is super. You could combine Zugspitze with the nearby Benedictine abbey called Etal, magnificent example of Baroque architecture and the Wieskirche, Rococco church nearby. My family is from this area. Beautiful.
