Landstuhl is located at a motorway exit near Kaiserslautern. Would be a good location to see games there if you have a car. By car it should be roughly 1 1/2 to 2 hours to Frankfurt. Not ideal for public transport though.

Your second question: 1000 € for 31 days is quite a small budget during World Cup. Are you willing to share your sleeping room with others? Then, youth hostels might be an option. Many of those are clean and cheap, but have 4-6 beds in one sleeping room.

thanks Mark...the thing is i am a journalist....and am on a budget.....i would rather saty a little far away and get a room for myself....maybe i would like a little solitude after my work is over....i don;t have a car and would like to have something which will be connected by train...atleast i can come back and have some nice sleep before the next day begins.....i will be travelling to other cities and then coming back after the match is over....so it will be one full month of grind...is this place Landsthul connected by train....the landlady says its the main station...will i get a train back home say around 1 in the morning???/

Hi soccermad! Check www.bahn.de for connections. Just tried it and found that it takes roughly 2 hours to Frankfurt with the need to interchange at least once. So, the connection works, but it%26#39;s not perfect. If Frankfurt is your main destination when you are in Landstuhl, you might find better ones for the same price (maybe towns like Fulda, Giessen, Darmstadt, Aschaffenburg, my home town Hanau - they are all within proximity of Frankfurt).

Landstuhl is very good for the Kaiserslautern games though.

I don%26#39;t really have ideas for your budget problem, because most hotels will increase their prices during the World Cup, I%26#39;m afraid. I still think youth hostels would be the most likely option, with some offering single rooms, too (not including ensuite bathrooms mostly). Check jugendherberge.de/international/…index.jsp for details.

If you are able to stay at the same spot for 30 days, then a discount might be possible. Maybe you can even manage to rent a flat for a month. I am not sure where you can find that on the Internet though.
