My main thing i want to see is the BMW HQ and factory tour,Museuam etc:

Also want to visit the Olympic tower.

and Neusechwanstein Castle looks amazing.

Any tips, prices or Links ect would really help

I have read on several post on here that Munich is a safe city,so that sounds good, but looking for advice on a few things.

1.Arrive at Munich Airport from Scotland on the Wed.

Where do i get Train to Munich Centre and how much does it cost?

2.I hear you can buy a card that give unlimeted travel on trains?

I would like to buy one if it is going to benifate us.

Where do i get one and how much?

3.Where is the best place to go at night for a safe quite drink?

Dont think Dad will want to go clubbing,so a friendly place to have a few beers and maybe a game of pool

4.Where is the best place to go for food in the evening?Looking for traditional food like Steak,Burgers,Chicken etc:

Do these places have menu in English?(Dont know much German yet,but i am trying)

Thanks in advance of any pointers you can offer

1. S-Bahn S1 or S8

munich-airport.de/EN/…index.html

Single ticket is EUR 8,80.

A mini group (2-5 persons) day ticket (Partner Tageskarte) is EUR 16,00.

2. You can buy mini group day tickets for covering local public transport (regional trains (RB, RE, IRE), S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, buses):

Munich EUR 8,00

Munich XXL EUR 10,50 (Munich + some close towns, e.g. Dachau)

MVV network EUR 16,00 (the one you need from/to the airport)

http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/index.html

Bavaria Ticket EUR 25,00 (on weekdays valid however only past 9am)

bahn.de/pv/…79.pdf

You can buy these ticket from ticket machines. Bavaria-Ticket is at the counter EUR 2,00 more expensive.

None of these tickets covers far distance trains (IC/EC, ICE). However e.g. to/from the airport or to Füssen (Neuschwanstein Castle) there are anyway only local trains.

3. pool? Maybe an Irish Pub.

4. beer cellars

There is the famous and touristic Hofbräuhaus

http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/en/index_en.html

or the Augustinerkeller (more locals; best beer)

www.augustiner-keller.de/english/index.html

or the Ratskeller (in the town hall)

If you get stuck when you are in the airport and can%26#39;t remember anything about the trains, there is an information booth staffed by English speakers who can help you. Tell them what you need and they can sell you the tickets. They%26#39;ll get you the tickets to get into town along with the passes for the week or however long. If you want to go to the castle, discuss this with them at this time as well and they may be able to get you all set up.

Many of the restaurants that we went to had English menus so that you didn%26#39;t have to fumble with translation guides. But, I recommend learning key menu words before going so that you will be prepared, or be up for a surprise. : )

There is also the Hard Rock Cafe in the Marienplatz that serves traditional food and they speak english. It is across from the hofbraeuhaus.

Hotel Royal is very convenient for its location to the hauptbahnhof (hbf). It%26#39;s about a 5 minute walk to the hbf. If you book with them and they issue you a room on the 7th floor at check-in, ask for a room on a lower floor. For access to 7, you take a lift to 6, then walk one flight of stairs to get to 7 - kind of a hassel with luggage.

Buy the Munich Welcome Card - Partner 3 day card total area, costs 43 euros. It%26#39;s good for up to 5 people for the 3 days and you can use it to get from the airport to the hbf, when you arrive. You can also use it for the s-bahn and u-bahn trains, busses and trams. You can even use it to go to the Dachau concentration memorial site. We used one for the 3 days we were there in October - it was very convenient. It was so convenient to be at the Hotel royal, with its proximity to the hbf - we took the s-bahn train to Marienplatz every day. Any s-bahn train will get you there. Info on the welcome card is below. You can buy it at the airport at Terminal 1:service center, central area or Terminal 2:service center, level 03, arrival.

For drinks/eats - most restaurants have a menu in English. In addition to the places mentioned by %26#39;abalada%26#39;, go to Marienplatz and wander along Neuhauserstrasse and Kaufingerstrasse, there are several places to have a beer and food there. Check out Schneider Weisse brewery on the street - Im tal. And for good bratwurst/sauerkraut - go to Bratwurstglockl am Dom, not far from Marienplatz, it%26#39;s one of Munich%26#39;s oldest restaurant. Also, wander around Vicktualienmarkt - lots of cheap eats/sandwiches/ready made salads/pastas/fresh fruits/sausages/beer. The beer garden area under the tree there is a nice area in good weather.

For a bird%26#39;s eye view of the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz, go to the Cafe Glockenspiel which is on the 4th or 5th floor in the building directly across the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz. Have one of their coffees and the apple struedel - wonderful.

Their is a tourist info office at Marienplatz, if you need any info. or directions anywhere.
