Berlin New Year's Eve Fireworks

I will be in Berlin on New Year%26#39;s Eve and would like to know a good spot to be at to see the fireworks where it is not too crowded? How crowded will it be on Strasse de 17. Juni in the park or on the Unter den Linden. We would like to see all the sights but not get stuck in a crowd. Thank you for your suggestions and Happy New Year!

We just returned from a week in Berlin and the day we left scaffolding was being set around Brandenburg Gate. Our assumption is that there will be some type of celebration there for New Year%26#39;s Eve. The new Sony Center is a couple of blocks down the street at Potsdamer Platz and may have viewing. We stayed at the Marriott which is in that location and they may have some areas for visibility. I would check with the concierge, the desk is located immediately upon entering the hotel.

There will be a huge party around the Brandenburg Gate so I assume there and even on the Straße des 17. Juni it will be very crowded. I have never been there though as I hate huge crowds. So I can%26#39;t speak of own experience.

A good spot to watch the fireworks over Berlin is for example the Teufelsberg in Charlottenburg. A lot of people just go there with a bottle of sparkling wine and watch the fireworks. Anyway, it%26#39;s not easy to get there without a car.

Unter den Linden is this year not part of the party mile (due the builing site of a new underground station). It also provided due the buildings there not the best views.

Strasse des 17. Juni will be very crowded.

Berlin seems to be nearly completely booked out. The weather will be also OK (as far one can expect this at this time of the year).

See for the location where the %26quot;Feuerwerk%26quot; (= fireworks) will be started.

I think you%26#39;ll have good views and less crowds in the area between the %26quot;Lehrter Bahnhof - Berlin Hauptbahnhof%26quot; and the Spreebogen, the part along the river Spree north of the word %26quot;Feuerwerk%26quot; (already outside the map).
