Top 5 Sights

Hi Folks,

My Dad and I are goimg to Berlin for a weekend at the end of March.

What are the best sights, museums, events, bars and restaurants.

Not a lot to ask I know!

We are staying right in the centre of town.

As usual thanks in advance.

Sights - I suggest that you%26#39;ll take an intro tour (such as www.insidertour.com - there are others) from the Zoologischer Garten station (next to the McDonalds) or from the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn Station.

Basically, I%26#39;d say, that you shouldn%26#39;t miss (I am cheating a little, because in each point, I put a little more than a single place):

- The Reichstag, Unter den Linden

- Potsdamer Platz, the Holocaust Memorial

- Hackescher Hoefe, the New Synagogue, etc.

- The Victory Culumn

- The Museum Island, Aleaxnder Platz, The Berlin Cathedral, Marx-Engels Platz, Nikolai Quarter.

%26quot;Must see%26quot; Museums:

- Pergamon

- Jewish Museum

- German Historical Museum

- Museums at the Kulturforum (Potsdamer Platz) and esp. the %26quot;Neue Nationalgalerie)

Events:

Check out www.berlin.de

Thanks a lot.

I will definately book myself on a tour The Reichstag looks like a marvellous building only rivalled by the new Scottish Parliament Building.
