Where to stay near Duusseldorf

My Son and two friends are travelling from England to the world cup in June.They travel out to Dusseldorf on June 18th and return July 2nd. Can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel or hostel. They dont mind staying a distance away from Dusseldorf.
