Was fortunate to come across a really good deal of £66 return, non stop from Edinburgh in Aug by BMI. Now have to decide on hotel. We like reviews of Le Meridien, can%26#39;t find much negative comment, and the fact it is easily accessed from station recommends it to us.
Any other centrally located suggestions around **** would be appreciated for two travel junkie 50 somethings?

Try the NH Deutscher Kaiser hotel on Arnulf Strasse across from train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and everything worked fine. I had breakfast at the train station where there is a nice variety of eating places( and cheaper)
Don%26#39;t let the few XXX stores in the area change your mind as these are common in big cities and are harmless.
Any hotel around the train station is great for shopping access to Munich%26#39;s stores and attractions.
I will stay there again, but there are other nice hotels in the area too, you can%26#39;t go wrong on most...check prices first and book online once you are sure.

Will have a look at those you mentioned. Helpful to have some pointers.Am also hoping that hotels will be trying to attract business in a post World Cup lull!

Le Meridien should be your first choice. The hotel is quite new and the location is good, 4+.
The NH is nice, but not all rooms are renovated.

Kind of confirms what I have sussed on review section, only one thing I wondered about, was the mention of street noise at night in one post on Le Meridien.Wouldn%26#39;t have thought that a hotel of this class would have suspect noise reducing glazing? Or maybe best to ask for rooms facing inwards? Not bothered about views, as will be out looking at them.
