Hi!
Me and my boyfriend will spend 3 days in Hamburg in the first week of december.
We booked a room at the Golden Tulip Hotel Norge, due to a good deal, and it seem to have an ideal location. But no reviews here or anywhere else.
Anybody know anything about it?
Also I was wondering how the weather is like at that time of year, and how is the temperature?
Thank you.

Thank you!
My German is very poor, but I%26#39;ll ask someone to translate it for me.

If you need help ask me but I don%26#39;t look into the German forum all that often. I%26#39;ll keep a look out for you, though!

Hi Monica,
The Hotel Norge is fine. It is located on a very busy road, but if you get a room at the back you will be ok. The location is good, but if you want to get into the city centre, you will have to get the underground (which is only 5 minutes away). Journey time is about five minutes. You could walk and it%26#39;s quite a nice walk through Schanzen Park and the city park Planten und Blomen, but it would take 30 minutes. The location is, however, very good for going out at night. You are 5 minutes away from the Schanze/Schulterblatt where there are good small shops and loads of bars and restaurants. If you like fish, then I can recommend La sepia along Schulterblatt. The food is reasonable 10-17 Euros and is very tasty. It gets very, very busy at the weekend. If you get a chance, book in advance.
Be prepared for the weather to be cold in Hamburg. It always seems colder than in England anyway, don%26#39;t know abot Sweden though.
Best wishes,
Rebekah

Thank you for very useful information Rebekah!
I don%26#39;t think the Hamburg-area can be colder in the winter than in Sweden though (at least I hope not) Here it can go down to minus 20-30 :)

This hotel was awful!
One of the worst I%26#39;ve stayed in.
Whatever you do, do not stay at this hotel!
Other than that, Hamburg was a nice city although it was very cold, and I wasn%26#39;t feeling well.
Btw. the %26quot;glüwein%26quot; was fantastic! And the meatsticks they sold at the christmas-marked tasted great.
The christmas-marked was an attraction in itself, but VERY crowded.
Will definately visit Hamburg again.
