Hi everyone.
I%26#39;ll be staying 1 night in Gelsenkirchen during the World Cup.
Does anyone have a hotel they can recommend that would be close to the stadium?
Thank you.

You can stop in Dortmund right by the stadium.
It%26#39;s only 20 minutes from Gelsenkirchen by train.

I%26#39;m stopping in Dusseldorf which is 30 minutes away by train. Still plenty of hotels available there at reasonable prices. Try the Hotel Herzog or the Hotel Batavia.

Maybe it%26#39;s helpful to some others readers - my advice is not to strictly stick to the cities where the games are if you are looking for accomodation and places are fully booked or you have the feeling you are getting ripped off.
For instance Dusseldorf has no games, but lots of hotel rooms and is conveniently located between Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund and Cologne. Neither way will take you longer than 1 hour (all night long too), and I bet you at night there will be thousands of people and world cup partys in the old town of Dusseldorf, it%26#39;s been always like that when the were big games in Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen.
The same applies to alternatives in the Ruhr area, for instance Bochum or Essen if you attend games in Dortmund/Gelsenkirchen, but I guess Dusseldorf is a really good choice.
