H.E.P Hotel, Berlin

Anyone stayed here?

Is it really far to the centre of Berlin?

If not buying a welcome card what are the prices of unlimited transport for 1 day, 3 days, 5 days etc?

There is onw review in the TripAdvisor hotel section.

This is as far from the centre as it can go: If you go a tad further east, it would be Poland ;-)

But there is direct train to Alexanderplatz (centre of East Berlin), so I guess it is not so bad.

Hönow is the end station of the U-Bahn line U5 (brown on the map).

The Hönower Einkaufspassage (=HEP, Hönow Shopping Mall) is next to the U-Bahn station.

You can find photos of both on the above page.

Travel times are given on the hotel page

www.hep-hotel-berlin.de/englisch/route.html

or you can use the BVG timetable

From: Hönow (or Hoenow)

A day ticket for the zones Berlin AB (see first link) is EUR 5,80. A day ticket for Berlin ABC is EUR 6,00 - but for Hönow AB would be sufficient.

There are no 3 or 5 day tickets, the next step is a 7-day ticket for EUR 25,40 (ABC 31,30).

To give you an idea of the dimensions - the circumreference of the S-Bahn ring which encloses central Berlin (zone A) is 39 km.

For a stay during the World Cup this would be certainly OK. Otherwise you should be able to find something more central.
