I%26#39;m organising a girls weekend away in April 06. We%26#39;re hoping to stay in the Ku%26#39;Damm area. Any ideas of places to go out in the evening (restaurants / clubs)? I%26#39;ve heard of the Goya club - has anyone been? If so what is it like?
Thanks!

Goya is in Nollendorfplatz, a train station from KaDeWe, a couple of stations from the Zoologische Garten train station. I haven%26#39;t been yo the new Goya, but I understand it is very much hyped.

For restaurants/bars/cafes you can check out the area around Savignyplatz/Knesebeckstr/Grolmannstr./Bleibtreustr. which isn%26#39;t too far away from the Ku%26#39;Damm, it might be even in walking distance depending of where you%26#39;ll be staying. Around Stuttgarter Platz you%26#39;ll find a few nice bars/restaurants as well. You should know so that the nice restaurants are close to Droysenstr., Windscheidstr. and Leonardstr. … if you go the other way it gets a bit seedy. It%26#39;s safe to walk along there (whatever time of day) but I don%26#39;t think these bars are not what you are looking for.
Haven%26#39;t been to the Goya club, the critics in one of the cities magazines (like Time Out) wasn%26#39;t that good though. Might have changed. Anyway, around the Goya Club on Nollendorfplatz, Maaßenstr. Goltzstr. you%26#39;ll find some nice bars as well. Berlin has not only one nightlife area, you%26#39;ll find great bars/clubs all over the city. Some nightlife areas are Kreuzberg (around Bergmannstraße), Friedrichshain (around Simon-Dach-Str), Prenzlauer Berg (around Kollwitzplatz).
As for finding out what is going on where you should check out the Berlin magazines TIP, Zitty or Exberliner. The last one is in English, the other two are in German only.
